Bible Study Guide Reviews: 7 Products Compared by Price

There is no single best Bible study guide. Three questions decide it: do you want dates or none, do you want to pay once or subscribe, and do you want a guide, a Bible, or a reading plan? These Bible study guide reviews compare every product we cover, using public facts checked October 7, 2026.

I have not bought or tested any of these. Each review is built from the brand's own pages, its written policies, and public review sites. You can read how we do that on our how we review page. I quit "read the Bible in a year" plans by February. Twice. That is why the dated or undated column is in this table.

Bible study guide reviews compared in one table

Seven products, one row each. Prices are for the main item, when checked October 7, 2026. Sale prices can change.

| Product | Format | Dated or undated | Price | Subscription? | Best for | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | Elvasma | Printed guide, 66 pages, one page per Bible book | Organized by book, not by date | $36.99 | App trial comes with it, then $19.98 a month | A quick overview of each book | | Valorrea | Spiral-bound 52-week themed study | Not stated | $36.90 | App named in its policy, $14.98 a month after a trial | Shoppers watching price | | Spiral Bible | Spiral-bound 52-week guide, hardcover or softcover | Not stated | $40.00 hardcover, $30.00 softcover | No, none found | Weekly themes with room for notes | | The Bible Recap | Daily recap by podcast, video, or book, with a 365-day plan | Day-numbered, start at Day 001 any time | Book $25.00 | Optional membership, $3 to $100 a month | Listeners who want a cover-to-cover read | | Hosanna Revival | Art-cover Bibles and short Bible studies | Not stated | Bible $64.90, studies mostly $24.90 | No, none found | Note-taking Bibles and short studies | | She Reads Truth | Reading plans on web and app, plus printed guides | Dated, on a shared community calendar | Printed guide $26.00 | Optional: app $2.99 a month, box $20 a month | Reading with a community | | The Simple Bible Study by Everisma (our own product) | Hardcover with gold spiral, 52 weekly themes | Undated | $49.00 | No, one-time price | Anyone who quit dated plans |

"Not stated" means the brand's pages do not say. It does not mean the guide has dates or lacks them.

How to use this table

Start with the question that stopped you last time. Then read the matching rows.

Do you want dates or no dates?

A dated plan gives you a schedule to follow, and a missed week can feel like falling behind. An undated guide lets you start any week. Our own product says it is fully undated. The Bible Recap and She Reads Truth run on day or calendar numbers, and both say you can pick up where you left off.

Do you want to pay once or subscribe?

A one-time price is easy to plan for. Some brands add an app that renews monthly, so read the checkout line before you buy. In this table, Elvasma, Valorrea, The Bible Recap, and She Reads Truth each have a paid or trial subscription of some kind.

Do you want a guide, a Bible, or a reading plan?

A guide gives you themes and questions. A Bible gives you the text with room for notes. A reading plan tells you what to read each day. Hosanna Revival and Spiral Bible sell Bibles. The Bible Recap and She Reads Truth are plan-first.

Each review in one paragraph

Here is each product in a few lines. Every one has a full review with sources and dates.

Elvasma

Elvasma sells a small guide with one page for each of the 66 books of the Bible. Public reviews praise the quick overview of each book. Check the app first. The free trial renews at $19.98 a month, and the written refund policy allows only a partial refund within 90 days. It fits new readers who want context before they read. Valorrea

Valorrea sells a 52-week themed study for $36.90 and a 66-book guide for $34.90, which is lower than several others here. Check the guarantee. Its pages say 30 days in some places and 90 days in others, and some public reviews describe late orders. It fits shoppers who want a lower price. Read the full Valorrea review.

Spiral Bible

Spiral Bible makes spiral-bound Bibles with wide margins, plus a 52-week guide with seven passages a week. Reviewers like that the pages lie flat. Check the size. Pages are 8.5 by 11 inches, and one reviewer called it too big to carry. It fits home study with a pen in hand. Read the full Spiral Bible review.

The Bible Recap

The Bible Recap is a daily recap that goes with a 365-day chronological reading plan. You read for about 12 minutes, then listen to or read an 8-minute recap. Its help page says you are never behind, and you can resume where you stopped. Check the format. It is not one physical guide, and its store ships only in the US. It fits people who like audio. Hosanna Revival

Hosanna Revival sells Bibles with art covers in five translations, plus short Bible studies with free first-week previews. Studies run 4 to 10 weeks, with one 52-week title. Check the return rules. Which Bible study guide is best rated?

We do not rate products, so we can't name a best rated Bible study guide. Below are the public scores each brand has, with the source and date. We add no score of our own.

| Product | Public rating | Source | Date checked | |---|---|---|---| | Elvasma | 3.8 out of 5, 13 reviews | Trustpilot | October 7, 2026 | | Valorrea | 3.8 out of 5, 497 reviews | Trustpilot | October 7, 2026 | | Spiral Bible | 2.4 out of 5, a handful of reviews | Trustpilot | October 7, 2026 | | The Bible Recap | 4.9 out of 5, 36,325 ratings | Apple Podcasts | October 7, 2026 | | The Bible Recap | 4.8 out of 5, 8,143 ratings | Amazon (hardcover book) | October 7, 2026 | | The Bible Recap | 4.82 out of 5, 7,255 ratings | Goodreads | October 7, 2026 | | Hosanna Revival | none found | No Trustpilot or BBB profile found | October 7, 2026 | | She Reads Truth | 3.2 out of 5, 1,457 ratings (the app) | Apple App Store | October 7, 2026 | | She Reads Truth | 4.7 out of 5, about 7,000 ratings (the CSB Bible, hardcover) | Amazon | October 7, 2026 | | The Simple Bible Study by Everisma (our own product) | No reviews yet | Trustpilot | October 7, 2026 |

These scores are for different things. A podcast, an app, a Bible, and a guide are not the same, and a small number of reviews can swing a score.
